AUSTIN, Texas / Dec. 20, 2018 – It wasn’t the usual way to help someone get into a new home, but it was just as fun for a group of local real estate agents.
A team from Weichert, Realtors® – Barton Harris & Co, located in Austin and Cedar Park, recently spent a day helping Habitat for Humanity build a new home in Austin for a single mom – who is a teacher – and her kids.
“It felt so good doing this for a single mom who works incredibly hard as a teacher to provide for her family,” said Linda Bishop, the agent/manager at the Weichert® affiliate who coordinated the volunteer effort with Habitat for Humanity.
“I also can’t believe how much we were able to do in just one day,” added Bishop.
The eight-person team from Weichert helped install new windows and window trim, and put matching molding on the outside of the house. They even dug fence post holes so new fencing could be put up around the 2-bedroom, 1-bath single family house.
“I have no doubt this family will love their new home, which was built with a lot of love and attention,” Bishop said. “My colleagues and I were honored to help Habitat for Humanity make someone’s dream of owning a home come true. And we would definitely do it again.”
