Friendly Military Rivalry Helps Local Real Estate Agency’s Holiday Toy Drive

WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Farnam & Associates Collects Toys For Families and Children In Need

Wildomar, Calif. / Jan. 6, 2016 – A friendly rivalry between two U.S. military veterans turned real estate agents is not a strategy commonly used to help collect new toys for families and children in need during the holiday season. But it can definitely work – especially when combined with the annual Army vs. Navy college football game as the backdrop for a holiday toy drive.

Scott Farnam and Charlie Grandin proudly served their country, spending time in the United States Army and Navy, respectively. Both now work at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Farnam & Associates, a real estate agency in Wildomar owned by Farnam. Their military allegiance served as the catalyst for the agency’s holiday toy drive last month.

“We have this Army vs. Navy atmosphere here at the office so we decided to put our friendly rivalry to good use to help others during the holidays,” said Farnam, the company’s broker/owner. “The sales associates and staff at our office also got in on the fun and helped organize the toy drive, which benefitted our local VFW and their charity, Caring Hearts for Veterans.”

The team at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Farnam & Associates, led by Farnam and Grandin, invited current and former clients along with individuals who live and work in the area to watch the Army-Navy game at a local sports bar. Guests were encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help support the agency’s Dec. 10 toy drive, which attracted more than 150 people. Anyone that donated a toy was also given a chance to win dozens of raffle prizes, including two big screen televisions. By day’s end, WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Farnam & Associates had collected hundreds of new toy for less fortunate families.
