Weichert, Realtors® – Team Metro Hosts 10th Annual Port-A-Pit Fundraiser
HICKORY, N.C. / Sept. 26, 2019 – The folks at Weichert, Realtors® – Team Metro enjoy helping people. It’s just part of the company’s DNA.
Whether it’s finding a dream home for a client or giving back to the community, the team at the Hickory-based real estate agency are “all-in” on everything they do to help others.
That “all-in” mentality was on full display September 5 when the Weichert® affiliate hosted its 10th Annual Port-A-Pit fundraiser.
This year’s benefit was held for six-year-old Paisley Beane, of Hickory, who has been battling a rare genetic disorder that results in short stature and skeletal anomalies that primarily affect her spine, arms and legs.
“We were truly honored to raise money to help Paisley and her family cover some of the out-of-pocket expenses for her medical care,” said Kim Smith, the company’s broker/owner.
Smith and her team of agents, administrative staff and volunteers sold over 1,000 meals at the event, which raised more than $7,000 this year.
The Weichert team also prepared each meal, which included a half smoked chicken, two side dishes and a dessert, with lots of TLC to show their support for young Paisley.
“Paisley is a strong little girl who has overcome more than most people ever will in life and has learned at a young age to make the best out of any situation,” added Smith. “The outpouring of support from everyone involved made this fundraising event a huge success. We can’t thank the community enough for always supporting us through this fundraising event.”
