FARMINGDALE, N.Y. / Sept. 4, 2018 – Weichert, Realtors® – Performance Homes, located in Farmingdale, is pleased to announce that Thomas Schultz has been named the recipient of the company’s inaugural Community Service Award.
The award, which will be presented annually, is given to a member of the staff at the Weichert® affiliate for their continued efforts to give back to the communities served by real estate agency.
Schultz received the award for his years of volunteer work with the non-profit group, Semper4Veterans. The Bethpage, New York-based charity assists Long Island veterans and military families with rental and utility bill payments, transportation and job placement, as well as food, clothing and other types of living expenses.
“The men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces make tremendous sacrifices to help protect our country,” said Schultz, a military veteran. “Volunteering with Semper4Veterans gives me a chance to help these brave soldiers and their military families who may be going through hard times.”
Schultz joined the United States Army in 1982 and was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, where he was awarded the Soldier of the Quarter Award. He enlisted in the New York State National Guard after being honorably discharged from the Army.
“Thomas has spent the entirety of his adult life helping others – whether it be through his service in the United States military or helping clients find their Long Island dream home,” said Jared Garcia, manager of the Farmingdale Weichert® affiliate. “That’s why we couldn’t think of a more deserving person for our company’s first-ever Community Service Award.”
