COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. / January 8, 2020 – Although many military members at the Fort Lee base in Prince George County were not able to return home for the holidays, the local community rallied together to help make it a memorable holiday season for the troops.
The Chamber of Commerce in Colonial Heights, along with local businesses and community members, organized the collection and donation of care packages to those at the Fort Lee Military Base. The team at Weichert, Realtors® – Brockwell & Associates was one of the companies to help spearhead the project.
During one of the company’s weekly virtual sales meetings, agent Joyce Navary discussed the project and offered suggestions of how the brokerage could get involved. A short time after, Weichert, Realtors® – Brockwell & Associates was making plans for its office to become a drop-off location where community members could donate supplies for the care packages.
The efforts of Weichert, Realtors® – Brockwell & Associates and members of the community helped bring in nearly $1,000 worth of snacks, as well as holiday cards and notes for the troops, to the office’s drop-off point. Supplies were then assembled into care packages and distributed to approximately 450 soldiers at Fort Lee.
