Weichert® affiliated agents excited to compete in DragonBoat, raise funds for cancer support services
BEAUFORT, S.C. / May 2, 2018 – A team of local real estate agents can’t wait to put down their “For Sale” lawn signs and pick up a paddle. But not because they’re tired of working in real estate.
The crew at Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties is excited to participate in the city’s annual DragonBoat Race Day again, which takes place June 23 at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.
The Weichert® affiliate is also looking to improve on its third place finish and fundraising totals at last year’s event.
“We have such a great time every year we participate in the city’s DragonBoat Race Day,” said Bob Jones, the sales manager of the company’s Beaufort office. “We’re also honored to be able to help local cancer patients with the funds we raise for this event.”
Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties participated in its first DragonBoat Race two years ago, when they were crowned the event’s top fundraising team. And they’re looking to add to their fundraising total over the years, which is close to $13,000.
“We knew we were coming back this year as soon as last year’s event ended,” added Karen Ryan, the broker/co-owner and team captain at Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties. “Anything that we can do, whether big or small, can make a difference in the lives of those touched by this disease.”
Proceeds from the annual boat race benefit DragonBoat Beaufort, a non-profit organization that assists local cancer patients, survivors and their families in Beaufort County.
