ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. / Feb. 3, 2020 – The parking lot in front of M’tucci’s Italian restaurant was the fun place to be last month. And not because it’s a popular place to eat.
It’s because residents from the area were excited to board the large red and white buses and visit the yellow pop-up tent in front of the Albuquerque restaurant.
Both the buses and tent were needed to help Weichert, Realtors® – Image sponsor a January 25 blood drive, which took place in M’tucci’s parking lot on Winter Haven Road.
Forty-six donors took time out of their regular Saturday routine to stop by and donate blood to help the Vitalant Blood Bank. The steady flow of visitors kept the two buses at full capacity for blood donation throughout the event.
The Weichert® affiliate also collected over 100 pounds of donated food items from residents who chose not to donate blood or were unable to do so at the event to help support the Roadrunner Food Bank.
“We can’t thank everyone out there enough who stopped by our office to donate blood and help the Roadrunner Food Bank,” said the affiliate’s co-owner, Peter Cochran. “Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to give back to your community, and it saves lives.”
Cochran also thanked the various local businesses that helped support the January 25 event.
“The support we received from local businesses for our blood drive was critical and we could not have done this without them,” added the company’s other owner, Natalia Beraún.
