COLUMBIA, Md. / Nov. 19, 2020 — As those throughout the country adjust to a work-from-home setting, the team at Weichert, Realtors® – McKenna & Vane has stepped up to assist teachers in the local community.
The Maryland-based Weichert® affiliate helped spearhead an initiative that provides local teachers with stand-up desks and shows appreciation for all their efforts.
Earlier this year, Weichert, Realtors® – McKenna & Vane purchased and gave away 10 stand-up desks to teachers within the local community as part of a local initiative in conjunction with other businesses. They were so moved by the reaction of the recipients, that they wanted to do more. The company has made an additional investment in desks to donate and plans to donate one for each home transaction closed through the end of 2020, while supplies last. The company will be taking nominations from friends and those within the community to seek out teachers in need.
“As a large portion of our local teachers are now instructing from home, we thought making this donation would be a great gesture to show our appreciation,” said Michael McKenna, owner of Weichert, Realtors® – McKenna & Vane. “Hopefully this is one small tool to help them adjust to virtual teaching and give them some flexibility in their home offices.”
Weichert, Realtors® – McKenna & Vane has been very active in its community over the years, participating in Toys for Tots and donating to the local community food banks and holiday food drives.
