POWELL, Ohio / Oct. 9, 2020 – A team of nearly 20 real estate agents from the Powell, OH, office of Weichert Realtors® – Triumph Group walked in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on September 27, 2020. The event, held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
In past years, participants of all ages and abilities joined together in their communities to walk as a group and call attention to this disease. This year, because of COVID-19 precautions, walkers participated in small, safe teams, with multiple teams crisscrossing local neighborhoods on sidewalks, tracks, and trails. The Weichert Realtors® – Triumph Group team canvassed the streets of downtown Delaware, OH, enjoying the fresh air and raising awareness for this critical fundraising event.
“This was our first year of participation,” said Steve Wilke, broker/owner of Weichert Realtors® – Triumph Group, “and I’m proud to say that our team members raised more than $5,000 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. While the details of the event changed this year to accommodate the current pandemic, the generosity of our community was as strong as ever. We thank every one of our friends and neighbors who contributed to make this year’s event a success.”
There is no fee to register for the Walk, but participants are encouraged to ask friends and family to “sponsor” them with a contribution. Funds raised by the event advance the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association by enabling critical care and support services and advancing research toward methods of prevention, treatment, and ultimately, a cure.
