Jodi Edwards Wins Trip to Las Vegas to Perform National Anthem at 2017 Weichert® Summit
FALMOUTH, Mass. / Feb. 22, 2017 – Jodi Edwards has been singing for as long as she can remember. The Falmouth resident gets a rush from performing in front of others.
Stage fright has never been a problem for Edwards. Nor will it be when she takes her vocal talents to Las Vegas next month.
Edwards beat out a talented field of singers from Weichert® affiliate offices around the country to earn a chance to sing the national anthem at the 2017 Weichert® Summit, taking place March 6-8. The Nevada event is expected to draw over 500 attendees.
“I really wasn’t expecting to win,” said Edwards, who was urged to enter the singing competition by her boss, Dennis Murphy, the broker/owner of WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Donahue Partners in Falmouth. “I was surprised and excited at the same time when I heard I had won. I’m really looking forward to flying out to Las Vegas to sing the national anthem.”
This won’t be Edwards’s first time singing in front of a packed house, though. She belted out the national anthem at her college graduation ceremony in 2010. Edwards also sings with Stage Door Canteen, a legendary big band, is an avid member of the Falmouth Theatre Guild and performs with the Brazen Belles, a burlesque show that has won numerous awards.
She also travels with a personal cheering section. Murphy and several other agents in his office plan to make the trip to Las Vegas to cheer Edwards on as she steps on stage.
“Jodi has an amazing voice,” said Murphy. “I’ve seen a lot of her shows here in the Falmouth area. She’ll definitely give us a moving rendition of the national anthem.”
