The ‘Great Pumpkin Giveaway’ Returns to Weichert, Realtors® – Your Place Realty
OSWEGO, Ill. / Oct. 5, 2017 — The line of cars stretched around the block at times. It was matched by a steady flow of foot traffic throughout the day.
The combination of the two brought organized chaos and Halloween fans – both big and small – to the parking lot of Weichert, Realtors® – Your Place Realty in Oswego for the return of the ‘Great Pumpkin Giveaway.’
The Weichert® affiliate transformed its parking into a temporary pumpkin patch on Sept. 30 and handed out 500 free pumpkins to both motorists and pedestrians. The event started last year as a thank you to the community for its support.
“We couldn’t believe how many people came out in the pouring rain last year to check out our ‘Great Pumpkin Giveaway,” said Jennifer Hohmann, director of career development at Weichert, Realtors® – Your Place Realty and one of the organizers of the event. “That’s when we knew we had to make this an annual event to thank the community for its support over the years.”
This year’s event looked nothing like last year’s rain-filled affair, but the turnout was just the same.
“People were already pulling up to get a free pumpkin before the event even started at 10 a.m.,” said Craig Caffarello, the broker/owner of Weichert, Realtors® – Your Place Realty. “And we were completely out of pumpkins when the event ended at 12 noon.”
“We might have to get more than 500 pumpkins for next year’s giveaway,” added Caffarello.
