Katie Gambla at Weichert, Realtors – Coastal Properties passionate about helping abuse victims
BEAUFORT, S.C. / July 24, 2018 – It’s hard to measure passion. You just know it when you see it.
Just look at Katie Gambla for proof of this.
The Beaufort real estate agent’s passion isn’t limited to the assistance she provides home buyers and sellers. She’s also passionate about helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
Gambla volunteers with Hopeful Horizons, an organization she worked at for two years before joining Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties. The non-profit provides counseling and services for abuse victims in Beaufort and neighboring counties.
“Hopeful Horizons is a beacon of hope for those in need and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help them carry out their mission,” said Gambla, who lives in Port Royal.
Having spent time as a family advocate and intake coordinator as an employee, Gambla’s volunteer work at Hopeful Horizons now includes taking hotline calls and accompanying abuse victims to the hospital. She also helps coordinate volunteer training and community outreach programs.
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to help Hopeful Horizons or the people that walk through their doors,” added Gambla. “The services they provide are not only life-changing, they’re life-saving.”
Gambla’s involvement with Hopeful Horizons is one of the standout efforts featured in her employer’s new “Give Back” campaign, which kicked off this summer.
